As of the 1/1/2015 to receive a certificate on the day of a course all participants must pre-enrol, and ensure their USI – Unique Student Identifier has been supplied and verified.
-
Q? WHY MUST I PRE-ENROLL?
-
A.
As of 1/1/2015 all participants in an Nationally recognized course require a USI – Unique Student Identification number – this is issued by a government department – Don’t worry we apply for this for you.
You must complete the required fields on your enrolment for this to be activated:
Students must enroll via an email that we send you, this will enable our RTO to receive your USI that is required on all certificates issued.
The government department will verify that this person – NAME/Identification/Date of Birth in particular all match and if they do we are then authorized to use your USI number.
This will take them to a secured site (for legal reasons) where personal information MUST be completed in full. Most fields are compulsory, however to enable authorization of certificates we require as much information as possible for identification verification. -
Q? WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT PRE-ENROLL?
-
A.
Pre Enrollment requires payment at time of booking without booking you will not have a position reserved on the course of your choice.
If we have not been issued or do not supply your USI number by the Government Department we cannot issue your certificate on the day, additional expenses will be incurred by the participant for postage of certificate when authorized.
-
Q? WHAT IS A USI NUMBER?
-
A.
A USI number is a government legislative requirement as of 01/01/2015 that course participants/individuals must supply to their training organisations “RTOs or education facilities prior to completion of your course, its free and simple to follow just just have your identification and personal information ready and follow the steps:
Applying for a USI – Please apply to www.usi.gov.au Bring your USI number to your course and email us so we can update your records
INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR USI
A USI is effectively an account or reference number made up of numbers and letters. The USI will allow all of an individual’s training records, entered in the national vocational education and training (VET) data collection, to be linked.
The USI will make it easier for students to find, collate and authenticate their VET achievements into a single transcript. It will also ensure that students’ VET records are not lost.
The USI will be available online and at no cost to the student. This USI will stay with the student for life and be recorded with any nationally recognized VET course that is undertaken from when the USI comes into effect.
You will only need to apply once in your lifetime. A USI must be provided to their training provider before the person can receive a statement of attainment or qualification. This applies to new students, pre-enrolled students, continuing students and school students participating in nationally Recognized accredited training.Currently, it is not possible for students to obtain a complete record of their VET enrollment and achievements from a single online source. This is inconvenient not only for students and employers, but can also make it more difficult for training organizations to assess pre-requisites, credit transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Incomplete data about access to and use of the VET sector also inhibits the development of evidence-based VET programs.
-
Q? WHAT FORM OF ID ARE ACCEPTED FOR USI NUMBER?
-
A.
When a student applies for a USI they will be required to supply information from a form of Identification (ID). The Document Verification Service used by the USI System, accepts any one of the following valid Australian forms of ID:
